backlog of updates: digital illustration

The final from digital illustration was really fun. We had to come up with a packaging design for candles based on our target demographic (which was also up to us). I will leave it to you to determine what that was to see if I was actually successful with my design.

concert tour poster

February 5, 2013 at 7:12 am (School) (, , , , , , , , )

Storm Large poster for my digital illustration class prior to printing. I decided to make a general tour poster rather than a specific concert poster. I originally had info on the tour dates, but the instructor preferred it without… and the instructor = the customer, who is ALWAYS right. 😀

So many things…

May 14, 2012 at 2:41 am (School) (, , , )

I have been so wicked busy this term that I haven’t had time to post all the homeworky-goodness from spring term so far! Lets start with Typography, shall we? There is not a lot I Scan say about this. It is the study of typefaces: history, anatomy, classification.

Everything from the first few weeks was done by hand, so I will have to scan them in later. It was fun, I had to design my own monogram and personal ambigram. Next, we had to create or recreate concrete poetry, modeled after Guillaume Apollinaire’s calligrammes. Beauty, eh? I like the pony one. So, I decided I wanted to make a word bonnet and found the poem Black Bonnet, by Henry Lawson.

This week’s assignment was to choose a typeface and make a poster for it. We had to include upper and lower case letters; indicate at least two points of type anatomy; include a brief history/description of the designer and typeface; 11×17; allowed one color beyond black and white.

Next up… Final Cut Pro!
